So lately I have been making a lot of memory wire bracelets. I made these when I first started beading. I hadn't done them in a while. Sometimes what is old seems new again. I love the big bold splash of color these bracelets make. They are so much fun to look at and even more fun to wear. I also love that they are one size fits all. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MRSBAUBLES?section_id=7041963

Spring Fever

Well it was a particularly long and difficult winter. After a few brutal storms (like being stranded in our house for 4 days without power.) Spring is very welcome! Bright cheerful colors look fresh.

Back From South Africa
Chunky Green Necklace made with beads from South AfricaChunky Purple Necklace with beads from South Africa
I just came back from a trip to Cape Town, South Africa. I went with my whole family for my nieces wedding, which was amazing. A beautiful wedding in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was a very special trip for my family as we were able to connect with family we haven't seen in years. My kids were able to meet cousins, aunts, uncles they have never met before. While I was there taking in the sights and catching up with family, I had to go check out the local bead work. It was amazing and very inspirational. I also couldn't help myself from buying some beads!

Triangles
I must have triangles on my mind because lately I have been making a lot of them! I have been making three dimensional pyramids and triangle pillow necklaces. I have been taking yoga classes. The triangle pose is one of the 12 basic asanas or postures. It good for your coordination and sense of balance. In yoga you need a lot of concentration and precision to be able to carry it out correctly. The same holds true for beading. You need a lot of focus to make the triangle work and pull it all together. Truthfully, I am much better at beading than I am at yoga!

I Made It To The Front Page!!!
Well it took two years but I finally made it to the front page. No - not to the New York Times - to Etsy! I guess it happens when you least expect it. I always check my blackberry first thing in the morning (I don't know what kind of urgent emails I think I am getting being a stay at home mom!) I saw an email from Statsy Featurator (which I will never erase!) and sure enough I made it to the front page. True it was at 3:30 am but I am sure it was prime time somewhere in the world! Well once is enough. That is all I needed. Maybe you will see me on the front page in another two years. A special thanks to AuntJaneCan who created this wonderful treasury.

Treasury Love
Treasury Love
I love making treasuries. I love the challenge of getting a treasury and the thrill of creating a treasury. I love coming up with a theme and then searching through all the amazing listings on etsy to come up with just the right combination. The best moment is when a fellow etsian finds out they are featured in my treasury. So here is my latest treasury called "My Pasta Recipe." Whenever I look at it, I get an urge to throw some tomatoes in a pot and start cooking!
